SEC hasn’t lost its swagger

The SEC hasn’t made the kind of impression it had hoped — or many expected — in this year’s bowl season. A 5-4 record with one very big game to go is not the glowing, we-are-the-champions signal the league wanted to deliver in the postseason.
Yet, in that one remaining game — the BCS national title game between top-ranked Alabama and No. 2 Texas — the biggest statement of all can be delivered with an Alabama victory.
An Alabama win will give the SEC four consecutive football national championships. Perhaps just as impressive as the string of titles is that three different schools will have earned those crowns.
