Tony Dungy: Tim Tebow Will Be ‘Great’ NFL Player
Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is “going to be a great player in the NFL,” former Colts and Bucs coach Tony Dungy said on The Dan Patrick Show, ProFootballTalk.com reports.
“As a coach, I always like winners,” Dungy said, according to the website. “Tim Tebow doesn’t have the classic throwing motion, he doesn’t have the accuracy, maybe, right now that some people are looking for, but I think when he gets into a pro system that really stresses throwing the ball accurately, the big thing is he makes the people around him better. And he’s won. … I think he’s going to be a great player in the NFL.”
In the latest mock draft for Sporting News’ War Room, former NFL scout Russ Lande does not have Tebow going on the first round. Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford and Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen are the only two QBs who will be drafted in the first round, according to Lande.
