LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson’s 21-for-31, 242-yard, two-touchdown effort in Saturday’s 31-10 win over Auburn established a career high in passing yards and completions for the sophomore from Destrehan.
It also marked another step in a young quarterback’s progression, LSU coach Les Miles said Monday.
“It’s a question of having him see enough and have enough experience so that when he goes into a game and things change, he’s very comfortable with how things should read out and how it should work,” Miles said of the 19-year-old. “I say this with the understanding that, really, it’s a young quarterback. It’s about the ninth game he has started. You’d like to get him to go through a season once and have 12 games, 14 games under his belt and then see how he plays from there.
