The sense from Tom Coughlin was that Eli Manning arrived to work yesterday and seemed “anxious.” Manning, battling through an injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot, wanted to practice but was quickly told it wasn’t going to happen.

One of the attributes that attracted the Giants to Manning is that he’s level-headed. Manning quickly considered his options and realized the best way for him to get on the field Sunday against the Raiders was to sit this one out. And so, while the Giants went through their drills inside their field house, Manning stayed behind for treatment.
