So, why is Mississippi State playing Southern Miss?
By now, you know that Mississippi State and Southern Miss are expected to announce a home-and-home football series when representatives from both schools hold a press conference Thursday in Jackson.
USM has wanted the game since the series ended in 1990. State has been reluctant to enter into any deal.
So why now the change?
