The Southern Miss depth chart at running back has changed very little over the last four seasons.
Since Tory Harrison and Damion Fletcher arrived in Hattiesburg in 2006, Fletcher has been at the top and Harrison has played the role of capable backup.
There’s never been any question of Harrison’s talent with his combination of speed, hands and a good deal of power in his 6-foot-1, 191-pound frame. But Fletcher’s record-breaking performance at USM has forced Harrison to take advantage of the opportunities he receives.
Competition for carries can sometimes get intense for teammates, but there’s never been any sense that Harrison and Fletcher have been at odds.
