No word on Clausen’s MRI, but Weis remains optimistic

There was no official word Monday from Notre Dame on the MRI exam of quarterback Jimmy Clausen’s right foot. Clausen was hurt while being sacked in the 33-30 victory Saturday over Michigan State.
Clausen, who had the exam Sunday, finished the game but said afterward he wasn’t sure what the injury was. Coach Charlie Weis also was vague Sunday when asked about Clausen’s status.

”If Jimmy can go [today], he’ll be out there at practice,” Weis said. ”I mean, it wasn’t too long ago I watched that Tommy Brady guy. Everybody said he [hurt his] shoulder and [was] done. Next day at practice, they all came out there, he was slinging the ball all over the place. Hopefully [today], we have a very similar pattern.”
