Sporadic Rebels toy with outmanned Lions
OXFORD — In the aftermath of Ole Miss’ 52-6 victory over Southeastern Louisiana, it seemed almost absurd to be critical of a game that was never even close to being in doubt.
But in another uneven performance against an obviously inferior opponent, the No. 5-ranked Rebels couldn’t erase the nagging feeling that this team isn’t playing like one of the nation’s elite with its Southeastern Conference opener less than a week away.
“You can’t win like that in the SEC,” coach Houston Nutt said.
