A business appreciation fundraiser luncheon was held Wednesday for Sen. Merle Flowers, R-Olive Branch.
Flowers spoke to a standing room only crowd at the DeSoto Civic Center.
“My family and I are very humbled by the support of our community,” Flowers said. “We are very blessed to have such a loving family and so many dear friends. It’s a tremendous honor and joy to serve the citizens of DeSoto County.”
Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Brad White and Sen. Terry Brown, R-Columbus, gave remarks at the event.
“Merle is a true conservative, and has the full support of the Republican Party in Mississippi,” White said.
