Taggart – Congrats Madison County Chancery Clerk Arthur Johnston
Federal courts have mandated electronic filing for some time now, and the improved efficiencies for the bench and bar, and improved access for the public, are dramatic. Now, thanks to the leadership of Supreme Court Chief Justice Bill Waller, Jr., and the innovative public spiritedness of Arthur Johnston and his staff, the first big step toward to implementing a similar system in state courts has been taken.
Court administrators in Texas, California and elsewhere are already in touch with Johnston’s office for advice on making the same moves in their states. It’s gratifying to see our court system leading out in this area, which makes the entire judicial system much more user friendly for those who use it daily, and for those who might only want to see what’s going on in their courts.
