And while he realizes that there are many who oppose a proposed health care overhaul, he is looking to the federal government for help.

“They need to bring the costs down,” he said. “That’s all there is to it. It’s ridiculous.”

He was one of more than 300 people who came out to a town hall meeting hosted by 2nd District Rep. Bennie Thompson Monday in Jackson.

The health care proposal has drawn interest, enthusiasm and skepticism from people across the country, igniting a fiery debate over whether the nation’s health care system can – or should – be improved.

Those who oppose the plan argue that it will be too costly and that government should not interfere in the private sector.
