Bobby Humphrey has message for new college players
In just a few days, freshman football players will report to Alabama, Auburn and UAB and the hundreds of other football programs that have offered them the chance to attend college in exchange for their ability to run, throw, catch and tackle.
It is easy to see them as commodities, pieces to fit into the puzzle that will become a football team. Fans tend to think about these players in one dimension, from the perspective of their projected ability to help “their team” win games.
