Jim Hood drops charges against ex-DA Glenn White

Charges against former Forrest County District Attorney Glenn White, who was accused of bribing a witness in a Pearl River County investigation, have been dropped, officials with the state attorney general’s office said Thursday.

Attorney General Jim Hood agreed to drop charges against White. White was charged on March 5 with bribing a witness in a case involving Anita Carol Pearson, 48, owner of A-1 Outlaw Bonding.

Hood took over the case after 15th Circuit Court District Attorney Hal Kittrell was recused from prosecuting the cases pending against Pearson and White.

Kittrell was recused after White’s attorneys advised him he could have been a potential witness in the case.

Pearson also was arrested in March and charged with conspiracy to intimidate a witness.

Officials with Hood’s office did not provide details on why White’s charges was dropped.
