Special Hinds judges’ terms extended to fill DeLaughter seat
The Mississippi Supreme has extended the terms for six months of two special judges appointed to handle criminal and civil cases for suspended Hinds County Circuit Court Judge Bobby DeLaughter.
Chief Justice William Waller Jr. signed an order Tuesday to extend the terms of Special Circuit Judges L. Breland Hilburn and William Coleman.
Coleman and Hilburn’s terms were scheduled to run out June 30. The extension is through Dec. 31.
Hilburn is handling DeLaughter’s criminal docket and Coleman is handling his civil docket.
