Golden Eagles open CWS vs. storied ‘Horns
OMAHA, NEB. — The Southern Miss Golden Eagles have gone over the Texas Longhorns’ trademark “small ball” game plan. In fact, they’ve studied it, prepared for it, and then gone over it again.
Today, the upstart Golden Eagles (40-24) will get a chance to see it first hand when they take the field at 6 p.m. at Rosenblatt Stadium for the first College World Series game in school history against Texas (46-14-1), the team that has made more CWS appearances than any other with 33.
