Northern District Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley (D-Nettleton) has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Regulatory Research Institute (NRRI) based in Silver Spring, Maryland. Presley was appointed to the board by Commissioner Frederick Butler of New Jersey, president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC).
The National Regulatory Research Institute was established by NARUC in 1976 and is the official research arm of NARUC. NRRI provides research,
educational services and technical assistance to state regulatory commissions, and other national and international organizations.
“I am humbled and grateful to be asked to serve on the board of such a prestigious and important organization,” Presley said. “The NRRI provides a
wealth of exceptional research and analysis on utility issues for state commissions all across this country. The State of Mississippi will benefit from
NRRI’s vast amount of expertise in regulating public utilities.”
Commissioner Presley also serves on NARUC Committees for Consumer Affairs, Water and National Wireless Consumer Protection Standards. Presley was

NARUC ( www.naruc.org ) is a non-profit organization founded in 1889 whose members include the governmental agencies that are engaged in the regulation of utilities and carriers in the fifty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. NARUC represents the interests of State public utility commissions before the three branches of the Federal government.
