SecNav to visit New England shipyards
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus plans to visit Bath Iron Works and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on Monday.
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, announced Tuesday that Mabus has accepted her invitation to visit the two shipyards.
Details of the visit have yet to be finalized.
Collins said this will be Mabus’ first visit to the yards and she is pleased that he’s taking the opportunity to learn more about Maine’s shipbuilding and repair facilities.
