Auburn not backing off any fights
Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn has a catchy name for the unique tactics employed by the Auburn coaching staff to replenish a roster that deteriorated quicker than most anybody thought possible during the final years under Tommy Tuberville.
Malzahn, in Mobile to speak at the annual L’Arche Football preview banquet last week, called it “extreme recruiting.”
Some detractors have said it’s in bad taste to use limousines and invitation-only weekend slumber parties to try to impress high school recruits. But it’s impossible to argue with the impact so far.
