Ole Miss coach pleads, keeps job
OXFORD — By legal standards, University of Mississippi men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy received only a slight smack on the wrist for pleading guilty to disorderly conduct in a Cincinnati courtroom on Monday.
But now the third-year coach faces a potentially more difficult task of repairing his public image after an embarrassing incident Dec. 18 that included allegations of being drunk at 1 a.m., punching a cab driver and using ethnic slurs against him the night before Ole Miss was scheduled to play a game on national television.
After months of denying any wrongdoing, Kennedy backtracked.
