Content Mustain contends for USC QB job

For a change, the football things in Mitch Mustain’s life seem pretty healthy. He says he likes the other quarterbacks at USC, loves his new position coach and owns a fair shot at winning the starting job for the West Coast’s coolest program.
The ingredients for success are there, and it’s time for success to follow. This springs marks last call on Mustain’s college career, which began with the chance to rank among the all-time best. At least, even the kid figured, it would flow smoother than this.
“Ideally, I would have done a Peyton Manning,” Mustain said on the phone from Los Angeles last week. “Come in, light it up for a couple years, and go to the league. But not everyone lives in that world.”
