McMillin set to make announcement today
Jackson Police Chief /Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin is expected to make an announcement this morning during his command staff meeting at the Police Department.
However, McMillin and officials close to him were tight-lipped about the announcement.
McMillin was named by Mayor Frank Melton to lead the Police Department in November 2007.
In recent days, there has been widespread talk in the community that McMillin is going to step down as chief and that he will endorse City Councilman Marshand Crisler, who also is a Sheriff’s Department employee, for mayor over Melton.
