GREENSBORO When Tyler Hansbrough decided to return for his senior season of basketball at North Carolina, he knew what was coming: the bitter boos from opponents’ fans, the searing scrutiny from the media, more than a few skeptics insisting that his old-school game won’t translate into NBA success.
“I think a lot of people have been critical this year, because they’ve seen me play for so long,” the 2008 consensus national player of the year said. “… They grow to hate me, and that’s part of the game. But you get used to it; and in a way, I’m proud of it.”
