After bad breaks, Kennedy makes own luck

STARKVILLE – Sometimes, not being from Mississippi might be a good thing.

Most of the Ole Miss men’s basketball players are from out-of-state and needed a little education on the type of environment they were entering Saturday.
“Coach had been telling us the place was very hostile … that the fans would hate us,” freshman guard Terrico White said.
If White was trying to win friends and influence people in his first visit to Humphrey Coliseum, he failed miserably by scoring 18 points and grabbing five rebounds in a 67-63 Ole Miss victory.
Three of his teammates scored in double figures, and the wounded Rebels – reinvented after season-ending injuries to three of their top seven players – collected a win with $2-bill rarity. Ole Miss had lost 10 straight in the building and 23 of the last 25.
