On today’s metro show hosted by Paul Gallo on Supertalk MS 97.3, former Jackson mayor Dale Danks talked about the Jackson mayoral race and other issues facing Jackson. Though he was a bit coy in his response, he didn’t reject the possibility out of hand.

Could it be that he is a candidate for mayor in 2009?
If so, it is a potential gamechanger. Current City Councilman Marshand Crisler and former Police Chief Robert Johnson have all but declared. Danks has certainly maintained a high profile in city politics over the last few years being a close confidante of Mayor Frank Melton. He still has many of the business, legal, financial and economic development relationships that instantly make him a very viable candidate.
