Georgia’s loss could be Rebels’ gain in bowl picture
OXFORD – With regular season play finished, pieces of the bowl puzzle are starting to fall in place, but the picture remains incomplete.
Ole Miss, back the in postseason for the first time since Eli Manning’s senior year, will most likely play in either the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla., or the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
Ole Miss fans dropped cotton balls from the east side suites Friday, celebrating where they believed they were headed, as the Rebels defeated Mississippi State 45-0.
The Rebels beat Oklahoma State 31-28 in Dallas at the end of the 2003 season.
On Saturday, when Georgia Tech defeated Georgia, Ole Miss became an option for the Capital One Bowl, the former Citrus Bowl.
