Q. What does the loss by then-No. 1 Texas mean as far as the national championship picture?
A. It means Texas Tech is a legitimate contender — at least for now. The Red Raiders have Oklahoma State on Saturday and then Oklahoma. Let’s see them survive that. It also means a one-loss team — Florida, if it wins the SEC title; a Big 12 team, and/or USC — will be grousing if unbeaten Penn State and its Charmin-like schedule get into the BCS national championship game ahead of them.
