STARKVILLE – There was a bright spot in Mississippi State’s 14-13 loss to Kentucky on Saturday.
A giant, 111-by-47-foot bright spot.
MSU’s new high-definition video board made its debut to rave reviews at Davis Wade Stadium. It’s not 100-percent complete – the new sound system that comes with it wasn’t yet set up – but workers were tweaking the video board almost up until game time.
Except for a few contrary screen panels, there were no glitches.
“It’s more clear to me looking at it than looking down on the field,” said MSU fan Perry Williams, of Altoona, Ala. He was sitting in section B, which is on the south side of the field, and said he had no problem seeing it from that angle.
The main board is flanked by two vertical HD displays as well as a horizontal one underneath it.
