Automotive supplier Toyota Tsusho America, Inc., will locate two operations in Blue Springs to supply Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi’s vehicle plant, it was announced today.
Toyota Tsusho America will open a joint venture steel processing facility on the Toyota site.
A second Toyota Tsusho joint venture will build another plant across U.S. 78 to provide tire-and-wheel assembly, Gov. Haley Barbour said.
The two operations together could employ up to 70 people, company officials estimate.
Toyota Tsusho production start-up will correspond with that of the $1.3 billion Toyota vehicle plant, in late 2010.
