Clemson fires Tommy Bowden

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson has fired football coach Tommy Bowden, according to local televison stations and ESPN.com.
Wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney has been named interim head coach.
The Tigers (3-3, 1-2) started the season ranked 8th in the country but has struggled offensively and has scored just seven points in its last six quarters in losses to Maryland and Wake Forest.
