LSU will have a conditioning workout on Friday morning before taking Saturday and Sunday off. The Tigers will return to practice on Monday afternoon as they will resume preparations for their game against Florida on Oct. 11.
“We had a long, scrimmage-style practice,” Miles said following the workout. “It was very much like the Thursday before we took the weekend off when the Troy game was cancelled (due to Hurricane Gustav).
“We had officials and worked on a number of situations in all three phases of the game. It was a good go. We’ll bring the players back on Monday afternoon and get ready for a good practice, one that will be a little more in depth than a normal Monday.”
Thursday’s scrimmage had the Tigers working on all phases of the game, including redzone and tight zone offense and the two-minute drill. LSU also spent time on special teams during the workout. The Tigers also worked on parts of the game plan that have been installed for the Florida game.
“We used some of our things that we put in for Florida,” Miles said. “We were able to get some things on tape and we’ll go back and the coaches will review this film very much like a game, so it was a very productive day for us.”
