REBELS:Linemen looking for complete performance
OXFORD – It’s always fun to excel at something, and Ole Miss offensive linemen have been good at pass protection through three games.
Center Daverin Geralds was tickled, however, that he and his teammates were able to crank up the running game in last week’s 34-10 win over Samford.
It was a good feeling as the Rebels picked up 196 yards and averaged 5.3 yards per rush.
An SEC team ought to be able to push around a lower-level opponent, but Geralds says there are positives to take nonetheless.
“There were a lot of fundamentals that we needed to work on, and we can keep building on that this week,” Geralds said.
Indeed, it wasn’t about mauling Samford as much as taking care of the fundamental aspects like pad level and footwork.
The previous week, Wake Forest defensive linemen had been able to get low and gain leverage against Ole Miss.
