After Ryan Succop’s field goal clanked off the left upright and the Vols avoided what would have been a monumental 28-point collapse against the Gamecocks, UT went on to win the rest of its regular-season games. The Vols then fell just a touchdown short of knocking off eventual national champion LSU for the SEC championship, and they finished off the season with a victory over Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl, pushing their record to 10-4.
