Hall took long road before landing job as Tigers’ QB

From the moment he stepped on the University of Memphis campus last December, quarterback Arkelon Hall looked as if he belonged.
He flashed a relaxed, easy smile and displayed an upbeat, outgoing nature.
Nearly nine months later — on the eve of his Division 1-A debut — nothing has changed. There’s not a hand he won’t shake, a teammate he won’t hug or a stranger he won’t acknowledge as he strolls into the Murphy Athletic Complex before a UofM practice.
A junior college transfer from the College of the Sequoias in California, Hall (6-3, 220) is scheduled to start Saturday night in Oxford, Miss., when the Tigers open their season against Ole Miss.
It’s an atmosphere, and a situation, Hall relishes.
