Coxwell withdraws as Melton’s attorney
In a two-page motion filed Monday in federal court, Coxwell informed U.S. District Judge Daniel Jordan that he and the mayor had been unable to reach terms for Coxwell’s continued employment.
Melton and his two former police bodyguards, Jackson Police Detectives Marcus Wright and Michael Recio, were indicted last month on charges related to damages caused to a duplex on Ridgeway Street during a police-style raid Aug. 26, 2006.
