Trial date moved back for mayor, bodyguards

By: Magnolia Tribune - July 26, 2008

In a teleconference Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Daniel Jordan, Jackson Mayor Frank Melton and his two bodyguards agreed to postpone the men’s trial until a later date, court officials said.

A new date for the trial has not been filed. The three men, who are charged with federal civil rights violations and a gun charge, were to stand trial Aug. 18.
