How 2007 success is spilling over
Mississippi State didn’t reap the recruiting whirlwind of upsets of Auburn and Alabama and a bowl win because, Croom pointed out, the bulk of the wooing was done before the Bulldogs went on a roll.
“The biggest thing that happened for us is we’re now starting to see residual effects of recruiting. Last year’s recruiting was pretty much in the books by the time we started the winning stretch. We’re way ahead of where we’ve been in recruiting — right now we have 19 commitments.”
