Sen. Roger Wicker said energy is the number one issue facing America, and that he was very much in support of lifting the drilling ban on the Offshore Continental Shelf as well as in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
“Last week, the president lifted the executive ban on offshore drilling and I believe Congress needs to follow that example,” Wicker said this afternoon during a “town hall” meeting at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Cochran Center.
Wicker, a former Republican Congressman who is filling out the unexpired term of former Sen. Trent Lott, said he will be on his way back to Washington, D.C., Tuesday, as Congress begins a debate on future energy legislation.
