Hundreds expected at Manning Passing Academy

THIBODAUX — Some of the best high-school quarterbacks and wide receivers in the country will converge on Thibodaux today for the Manning Passing Academy.

The camp is in its 13th year. This is the fourth summer Nicholls State University has hosted the event.
Nicholls Athletic Director Rob Bernardi said those years of experience help when it comes time to get ready for the camp.
“It has become routine. We are well prepared, and it is going smoothly,” Bernardi said. “It is a credit to our people on campus. The maintenance people, our housing people and the food-service people. Hosting is becoming easy.”
The academy’s namesake, New Orleans Saints quarterbacking legend Archie Manning, said Nicholls is doing a great job in its preparations, but he credits the community for giving campers and their parents a great experience.
