Plenty of pep in Tuberville’s step after Iron Bowls

On Thursday night, he sidled up next to Tuberville at the Huntsville-Madison County Auburn Club gathering and added a football to his collection.
“He wished me ‘War Eagle!’ and said he appreciated that I was here,” Dunn reported.
Tuberville had entered the reception room to a thunderous ovation when he playfully extended seven fingers toward the ceiling, the popular current Auburn gesture in reference to its dominance over Alabama.
Such summertime gatherings are essentially pep rallies, and they don’t do any harm for football programs’ fund-raising either. It’s a chance for the fans to mingle with the head coach, hear reports from spring practice and get a look ahead toward the season. For the most part, the same stuff they’ve already read and seen, but this time from the horse’s mouth.

“What we’ve been doing, what we’re doing now and what we’re going to be doing” is how Tuberville explained it.

For instance, the new flavor of offense, under new coordinator Tony Franklin.
