Wicker declines to debate Musgrove at the Neshoba County Fair

Interim U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker’s campaign notified the Neshoba County Fair Association over the weekend that Wicker was declining the Fair’s invitation to debate Democratic challenger former Gov. Ronnie Musgrove on Thursday, July 31. Wicker told the Fair he had to be back in Washington to cast Senate votes on that date, but did agree to speak at the Fair on Wednesday, July 30. Musgrove will speak on Thursday, July 31, as previously scheduled.

State Rep. Scott Bounds of Philadelphia, a Neshoba County Fair Association board member, confirmed Wicker’s decline. He said the Fair Association had “no comment” on the senator’s decision.
