Miss. Democratic Party convention Saturday at Jackson State

As many as 1,000 people are expected to attend the Mississippi Democratic Party convention, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday on the Jackson State University campus in Jackson.

Democrats will elect remaining delegates to the national party convention and remaining members of the party’s state executive committee at JSU’s Lee E. Williams Athletic & Assembly Center.

The party will also choose a national committeeman and committeewoman; seven at-large delegates and two at-large alternates to the Democratic National Convention; and four pledged party leader and elected official delegates to the national convention. Other elections will be held as well, including the choosing of six presidential electors.
