As it broke at Y’all Politics last week, the sentencing for Dick Scruggs, Sid Backstrom and Zack Scruggs was set for June 18, 2008.
No sooner than that came about, then Dick Scruggs objected to that date because he said he received the presentence reports late. So, FOLO then reports that Judge Biggers has rescheduled the sentencing for July 2, 2008.
Then the Clarion Ledger, Daily Journal and Legal News Line, among others, report that Scruggs has asked that the sentencing date be moved back to June 27, 2008. Apparently, Sid Backstrom is in agreement, but according to FOLO, Zach Scruggs must not be.
