Rebels in middle of frantic SEC chase
Challenges await the Ole Miss baseball team in Lexington, Ky., this evening beyond the regular pitfalls of playing an SEC opponent on the road.
A Rebels pitching rotation that has given up more than its share of home runs will try to reverse that trend in a ballpark with a very short porch in right field.

The approach on the mound will not change, Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco says. The Rebels will do what they do and hope that’s good enough to extend their season.

“This weekend means everything to everybody … except Georgia,” Kentucky coach John Cohen said.
The Eastern Bulldogs have already clinched the SEC’s overall championship. They’re the only team at present to have clinched a spot in next week’s SEC tournament in Hoover, Ala.
Ole Miss (33-20, 14-13 SEC) and Kentucky (39-14, 14-13) are tied with Florida and Alabama for the fourth spot in the overall standings.

South Carolina and Arkansas are both one game back in the win column. Vanderbilt and LSU are both one game ahead.

“The good news is we control our own destiny if we play well,” Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said. “There’s a lot on the line.”
