New York Giants Give David Diehl Pay Raise; Pierce Thinks Strahan Is Gone
We’ve got two New York Giants notes for you today.

First, the Giants gave G/T David Diehl an extension through the 2013 season. The total contract is worth about $31 million and includes incentives for Diehl as long as he’s at left tackle.

Diehl was originally given a 6-year, $15.5 million deal which was commensurate with other well paid guards in the league. Then incumbent tackle Luke Petitgout was replaced by Diehl. While not spectacular, Diehl proved to be serviceable at one of the most important positions in football. Diehl’s especially critical in that he is protecting the blind side of the face of the franchise (whether Giants fans like it or not) in Eli Manning.
