It has taken nearly two years and $400,000 to complete, but Ridgeland now has a guide for future development throughout the city.
Aldermen unanimously adopted the Ridgeland Area Master Plan at a public hearing recently, saying they wanted to start work on its proposals as soon as possible.
Master planning has become a trend for many midsized cities seeing growth.
