Some political mud sticks and some doesn’t in the white-hot 1st Congressional District race.
The accusations are flying between Travis Childers of Booneville and Greg Davis of Southaven, who are on the ballot Tuesday with two other candidates.
Childers and Davis were their party nominees in the April 1 runoffs for the Nov. 4 general election, but next week’s vote is a special, nonparty election to fill the House seat on an interim basis.
The accusations against Childers, a longtime Prentiss County chancery clerk, by Davis and the Republican National Congressional Committee:
