Disgraced attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs took the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination 19 times in Lafayette circuit court Tuesday.
He was called to testify in the case of Jones v Scruggs, which seeks a larger share of legal fees from Katrina lawsuit settlements.
This lawsuit surrounding the legal-fees distribution is the case at the center of federal judicial bribery indictments against Scruggs and four others. They all pleaded guilty and await sentencing.
