Alabama coach Nick Saban would prefer his players draft two teams among themselves to compete in Saturday’s 2 p.m. A-Day game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
He has realized, however, it’s wiser to go in a different direction.
Alabama’s first-string offense will team up with the second-string defense Saturday afternoon, leaving the second-team offense on the other sideline with the first-string defense. The idea is to have starters against starters and reserves against reserves as much as possible.
