Not so fast, says Richard “Dickie” Scruggs to the Mississippi Bar Association.
The Bar recently asked the Mississippi Supreme Court to strip the Oxford attorney of his license of practice law.
On Friday, he filed a motion to dismiss the Bar’s complaint, claiming that although he pleaded guilty March 14 to a felony of conspiring to bribe a judge, the Bar will need to file a “certified copy” of his guilty plea.
The complaint should be dismissed, he asserts, because such a copy or order hasn’t been entered for his case.
