Langston bribery sentence delayed

Although their pre-sentence reports have been prepared, the government wants to be sure Langston and Balducci will be fully helpful to testify against their former colleague, Richard “Dickie” Scruggs of Oxford, who also was ensnared in the alleged bribery of Lackey. Also indicted in that case are Scruggs’ lawyer son Zach and their legal associate Sidney Backstrom.

The Scruggses and Backstrom maintain their innocence. Their trial is set to begin March 31.
DeLaughter insists he did nothing wrong.
Langston also is believed to be offering a grand jury information related to the case in which he pleaded guilty.
